ImageSnippets™ is a new system for managing images. It uses structured linked data for annotation.
You can tag your images with structured data from standard datasets like: dbPedia, Yago and Freebase – OR – construct your own datasets. Use the system to search your images sorted by properties.
Publish your images on the web with descriptions and rights data intact (both embedded and stored in the HTML file as RDFa data).
ImageSnippets uses TextRazor and DbPedia Spotlight to automatically extract entities from keywords and descriptions.
The system is very easy to use. No familiarity with ‘structured’ or ‘linked’ data is required. Any web compatible picture resource (.jpg, .gif, .png) can be uploaded OR linked from existing websites.
ImageSnippets is in beta testing and we welcome your feedback!
